Trying to read between lines, I am assuming you mean to say (through the quote) that the society today is sicker than it was before ? I would think that society being “sick” is nothing specific to one particular timeframe, you would recollect Swami Vivekananda’s famous quote that “Kerala is a lunatic asylum” looking at all the extreme caste related problems in society at that time. But just that the problems keep changing – caste and untouchability etc.. were problems then (still in many places), global warming and environment is the problem now :-).
